1. Information We Do Not Collect or Upload

Unlike many other financial applications, we believe in minimizing data collection and prioritizing local processing. We specifically do not:

• Upload, transmit, or store your SMS messages or SMS-derived transaction data on our servers or third-party servers.
• Require you to link your bank accounts or share online banking credentials.
• Sell your financial data, SMS records, or personal information to third-party advertisers or data brokers.

2. Information We Collect & Process

We only process and collect the information necessary to provide and improve our services:

• Account Information: If you choose to create an account, we collect your name and email address for authentication purposes.
• Expense & Debt Records: All financial entries, category allocations, notes, and borrowing or lending transactions are stored strictly within your device's local memory. By default, this data remains localized on your device and is never sent to our servers. If you choose to enable the Google Drive backup feature, an encrypted copy of your local database is uploaded directly to your personal Google Drive account.
• SMS Processing for Income & Expense Tracking (Optional Permission): DeptoFlow offers an optional feature to retrieve and track income and expenses from financial SMS messages.
  • Opt-In Consent: SMS permission is requested only when you explicitly choose to turn on / enable this feature within the app. It is never enabled automatically.
  • Strict Local Processing: SMS reading and transaction parsing occur entirely locally on your device. No SMS messages, message text, or extracted income/expense data are ever uploaded, transmitted, or stored on our servers or shared with third parties.
  • Full Control & Revocation: You can disable this feature or revoke SMS permission at any time directly through the app settings or your device's system settings.
• Device Contacts (Optional Permission): To manage borrowing and lending logs with friends or family, you can link transaction entries to specific contacts. You can choose to add contact names manually or select them directly from your device contacts. Selecting from device contacts requires granting optional contact list access permission. If granted, contact information is used strictly within the application on your local device. We do not upload, share, or store your contact lists on our servers.
• Usage Data: We may collect anonymous analytics data (such as app crashes and feature usage) to help us improve the app's performance.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely for the following purposes:

• To provide, maintain, and improve the DeptoFlow app features (including local SMS transaction parsing when enabled).
• To provide customer support when you request it.
• To sync your data across devices (only if you have enabled backups to your personal Google Drive).

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption protocols to protect your data during transmission and storage. Because financial entries and SMS processing are handled locally on your device, your sensitive financial records remain protected within your device environment.

5. Your Rights & Data Control

You have full control over your data and app permissions. You can at any time:

• Enable or disable the SMS income/expense tracking feature at any time.
• Grant or revoke app permissions (such as SMS or Contacts) at any time via app or device settings.
• Export your data from the app.
• Delete your account and all associated data permanently from our servers (via the app or our Data Deletion page).

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
